Alert Insights Report (Beta)
-
Overview
The Alert Insights Report is a new centralized analysis tool designed to help administrators identify and eliminate alert noise with the help of Auvik Aurora. By analyzing 30 days of historical data, the report highlights the most frequently triggered alerts and provides data-driven recommendations to optimize alert configurations.
-
What’s New
Centralized 30-Day Activity View: Access a comprehensive summary of alert volume, open counts, and median resolution times across all severity levels, including period-over-period comparisons.
Aurora-Powered Trend Analysis: Use Aurora’s insights to quickly identify unusual spikes in critical alerts, detect noisy patterns, and pinpoint specific devices or tenants requiring immediate attention.
Intelligent Delay Suggestions: Receive specific timing recommendations (e.g., 50% or 80% noise suppression targets) to help determine the optimal delay settings for your alert definitions.
-
Technical Details
Data Scope: Analysis is based on a rolling 30-day window of organizational alert history.
Navigation: Located under Manage Alerts > Alert Insights Report.
Optimization Engine: Recommendations are specifically designed to assist in the transition to advanced alerting logic, with a focus on time-based suppression.
Availability: Available at the global site level to facilitate organization-wide standardization.
-
Impact & Considerations
Manual Application: Recommendations provided by the report are advisory. Administrators must manually update or recreate alert definitions to apply suggested delays.
Alerting Compatibility: While the report analyzes all alert data, the delay suggestions are intended for v2 Alerts that support time-delay configurations.
Operational Risk: When applying suggested delays, users should balance noise reduction against the required response time for specific critical conditions.
Configuration Best Practice: We recommend standardizing alerts at the global level and verifying AI-generated insights before modifying production alert thresholds.

Improved
-
Alerting
Count Delay: You can now set certain alerts to trigger only after a condition is met for a specific number of times within a defined time window (e.g., "5 occurrences in 10 minutes"). This is ideal for both polled metrics and event-driven data like syslog messages.
Automatic Dismissal (Clear After Time): Certain alerts can now be configured to clear automatically after a user-defined interval. You can set the delay for any amount of time starting at one minute for informational alerts that should trigger a notification but clear immediately to keep your dashboard clean.

Meraki Catalyst Switch Stack Support
Auvik has expanded its monitoring capabilities for Cisco Meraki environments by adding support for Catalyst-based switch stacks (including MS390 and C9000 series). This update ensures that all members of a physical switch stack are accurately represented and monitored within the platform, even when managed under a single IP address.
-
Palo Alto Utilization Issues
Addressed an issue where Palo Alto firewalls periodically stopped providing bandwidth utilization statistics.
-
Incorrect Consolidation of Eaton PDUS
Addressed a consolidation logic error where multiple Eaton ePDU devices were incorrectly merged into a single entity, despite having unique serial numbers.
-
ConnectWise Integration - “Ready to Match”
Addressed an issue where devices from specific Auvik sites were becoming stuck in a "Ready to match" state and failing to sync with ConnectWise PSA.

Device Lifecycle Powered by Auvik Aurora (Beta)
-
Overview
-
Auvik is introducing its public beta for automated lifecycle management, powered by Auvik Aurora agents. This update automates tracking of network hardware milestones, including End of Sale (EoS) and End of Support (EoSu) dates, for many vendors, eliminating manual effort.
Release details will be forthcoming.
-
What’s New
Lifecycle Discovery powered by Auvik Aurora: Automatically identify critical lifecycle dates for a variety of device vendors and models. Aurora will make updates to a tenant’s lifecycle data monthly.
Transparency & Confidence Scoring: Every lifecycle date provided by Auvik Aurora includes a confidence score (0–100). Only data meeting a high accuracy threshold is displayed.
Expanded Reporting & Exports: Export lifecycle data—including Aurora’s confidence scores and source links—into CSV format to streamline the creation of hardware refresh quotes and compliance reports.
-
Impact & Considerations
-
Availability:
Performance Enabled Sites: Users receive full access to lifecycle data for all supported vendors.
Essentials Enabled Sites: Users will continue to see lifecycle data for Cisco devices only; a site upgrade is required to unlock Aurora’s multi-vendor insights.
Core Subscriptions: Users receive full access to lifecycle data for all supported vendors.
Basic Subscriptions: Users will continue to see lifecycle data for Cisco devices only; a subscription upgrade is required to unlock Aurora’s multi-vendor insights.
-
Known Limitations
Coverage: Auvik Aurora currently focuses on networking infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, and access points). Coverage for other devices or peripheral hardware may vary based on the availability of public vendor documentation.

Syslog Alerting
In the upcoming weeks, Auvik will provide advanced syslog alerting, enabling users to turn specific syslog messages into actionable alerts. This feature allows network teams to detect critical issues earlier, reduce alert noise, and centralize monitoring. With support for grouping and count-based delays, syslog alerting delivers more precise, scalable, and efficient network operations.
Release will be forthcoming.
- What’s New
Alert on syslog messages: Create custom alerts triggered by specific syslog messages, including message content and severity filters.
Grouping: Group related syslog messages (by device, severity, facility, tag, etc.) to trigger alerts on occurrence frequency (e.g., “30 interface flaps in 10 minutes”).
- Technical Details
Available on Auvik Network Management tenants with the following tiers that include syslog: Performance and Core.
Prerequisites: Devices must send syslog to the Auvik collector; Alerting v2 must be enabled.
Delay Options: Supports Count delay (“N events in T minutes”), time delay, and immediate alerting.
- Impact & Considerations
Users should review and tune alert definitions to balance noise and coverage, especially when enabling grouping or adjusting delay thresholds.
No regular expression support in initial release; matching is based on string operators.
-
Known Limitations
- User-defined grouping fields and regex support are not yet available.
Alerting on combinations of different syslog message types is not supported.
-
Alert Root Cause & Diagnostic Suggestions (Beta)
Overview
Auvik Aurora will provide on-demand, context-aware root cause analysis. By analyzing entity data and historical alert patterns, Aurora helps network engineers quickly identify why an alert triggered and provides actionable steps to resolve the issue, significantly reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR).
Release details will be forthcoming.
- What’s New
On-Demand Root Cause Analysis: A new action button in the Alert Details view allows users to have Auvik Aurora generate likely root causes tailored to the specific device and alert context.
Interactive Troubleshooting Guidance: Aurora provides step-by-step diagnostic actions and allows for follow-up questions to refine suggestions as a user performs troubleshooting.
- Impact & Considerations
- Availability
Performance Enabled Sites: Users receive full access to diagnostics.
Core Subscriptions: Users receive full access to diagnostics.
Essentials Enabled Sites: Users will have access to the beta.
Basic Subscriptions: Aurora powered troubleshooting will not be available.
- Availability
-
How to Use
Users must manually click the "Use Aurora" (or equivalent) button within an active, non-dismissed alert.
- Known Limitations
Remediation: In this release, Aurora will provide troubleshooting guidance and hypotheses but does not perform automated remediation actions (e.g., it will not automatically change a device configuration).
Accuracy: Aurora will be more accurate when there is more data for the device. For the best results make sure the device is fully monitored with proper credentials.
