Immediate Action Required: End of Support for Ubuntu 20.04 Collectors

As we have communicated in previous release notes 2025-W14 Release - April 5th, 2025, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Long Term Standard Support) is reaching the end of standard support on May 31, 2025, and will no longer receive security updates from Canonical. To maintain the security and stability of your network, Auvik will no longer support its Ubuntu 20.04 collector.

Auvik will offer a grace period until July 28, 2025, to provide time for clients to make this transition. After July 28, 2025, Auvik collectors running Ubuntu 20.04 (version 20.04 of the OVA or Bash Script) will no longer connect to the Auvik platform, and any functionality the Auvik collector performs will stop reporting to Auvik. And also, running an outdated OS is a risk to your security posture.

To avoid service disruption, please upgrade your collector(s) to Ubuntu 22.04 as soon as possible.

Upgrade instructions: Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 22.04

Auvik Network Management (12)
  • Improved
    • CSV Export Improvement
      • We’ve improved the CSV export experience to better support large data sets. Users can now select specific data subsets to export via a new export modal, helping improve performance and reliability. This update addresses issues with stalled or failed exports and lays the groundwork for future enhancements including backend-powered exports and scheduled report delivery.

    • Unified Troubleshooting Views Now Available in the Server Dashboard
      • We’ve simplified how you monitor server health and performance by bringing existing WMI-based troubleshooting views directly into the server dashboard. Now, there’s no need to choose between monitoring critical services and monitoring interface throughput —you can see both sets of insights side by side in a single, unified view.

What You'll See (When WMI is Enabled)

        • Current Uptime
        • Network Performance Metrics
          • Bandwidth Statistics
          • Packet Rates
          • Interface Inventory (for online interfaces via WMI)
        • Ranked Interface Metrics
          • Top Interfaces by Bandwidth Utilization
          • Top Interfaces by Packet Loss

Note: WMI-based data still requires remote WMI to be configured. These views will not be available in agent-only setups.

        Additional Enhancements

        • Latency & Jitter Monitoring - Gain deeper insights into network performance issues—available when the Auvik collector can reach the server.
        • Open Alert Summary - Quickly spot and address ongoing server issues at a glance.

These updates bring a more complete and integrated troubleshooting experience to the server dashboard—so you can identify and resolve issues faster, with greater confidence and context.

  • Server Monitoring: Improved Online Status Reporting

We’ve enhanced how server online status is determined in Alerts 2.0 and the Device Inventory to give you more accurate, reliable visibility. This will be available on June 3rd.

    • If a server has the endpoint agent installed, its online status will now be based on what the agent reports.
    • If no agent is installed, online status will continue to reflect what the collector reports.
  • Track Daily Usage Trends with Server and Endpoint Monitoring

You can now view daily counts of online servers and workstations —helping you better understand your usage over time and make more informed decisions. This will be available on June 3rd.

  • Better Sync & Faster Access with Autotask PSA Inventory Sync Integration

We’ve made improvements to the Autotask PSA inventory sync integration to boost both billing automation and usability.

    • Automatic Configuration Item Type Assignment: The integration now lets you map each Auvik device class to the appropriate Autotask Configuration Item Type. This enables the use of the Autotask PSA automated billing feature.
    • Streamlined Access to Configuration Items: You can now open the linked Configuration Item in Autotask PSA directly from the Inventory Mapping page in Auvik with a single click. (Heads-up: Be sure to enable pop-ups from Autotask PSA in your browser settings.)
  • Sync Auvik Device Class to Autotask PSA Fields for Existing Configuration Items

We’ve expanded the Autotask PSA inventory sync integration to include syncing Device Class Mapping for existing configuration items - the same as when Auvik creates new configuration items. A new Device Class Mapping option is available in the Field Sync Mappings section, working similarly to the existing Device Make field mapping. You can sync to Autotask PSA Product, Configuration Item Category and Configuration Item Type.

This enhancement helps keep your PSA inventory clean and consistent.

  • Update for ServiceNow Yokohama release

The Auvik alerting integration has now been certified for the new ServiceNow Yokohama release.

  • Alerting 2.0 Enhancement: Control Visibility of Child Alerts

We’re giving you more control over your alerting experience across multi-site environments.

Now, you can choose whether to display alerts from child sites within your global or multi-site view:

    • Hide child alerts to reduce noise and focus only on alerts at the global or parent level.
    • Show child alerts when you need a complete view for auditing or troubleshooting across all sites.

This enhancement helps you stay focused when managing alerts at scale, while still offering full transparency when needed.

  • Track Daily Usage Trends with Server and Endpoint Monitoring

You can now view daily counts of online servers and workstations under Settings -> Billing -> Usage —helping you better understand your usage over time and make more informed decisions.

  • BGP Support Expansion

Any devices that respond to the default BGP SNMP MIB will have data displayed in the Debug/Routes pages. This will primarily cover Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet and Huawei. It will cover device types: Routers, Firewalls and Layer 3 Switches.

  • BGP Alerting

A new alert category is available for BGP alerting. Create new alerts based on uptime, state change and number of changes.
