Aurora Features Generally Available
On September 14, the following Aurora features will become generally available:
Alert Creation: Create v2 alert definitions from natural-language requests.
Alert Insights: Identify alert noise and opportunities to improve alert definitions.
Troubleshooting Assistance: Investigate alerts with guided analysis, likely causes, and recommended next steps.
Remote Terminal Assist: Receive guidance while working in a network device terminal.
Command Assist: Generate server and workstation commands in Command Runner.
Together, these capabilities help technicians create more effective alerts, investigate issues faster, and work with greater confidence in the terminal.
General Release
September’s updates focus on expanding our cloud visibility with the introduction of UniFi Cloud Monitoring, enhancing security through normalized vulnerability data, and streamlining user management with improved Roles API controls.
New
-
Process Monitoring
Overview: Troubleshoot performance issues faster with real-time visibility into the top 10 processes by CPU, memory, and disk utilization on Server and Endpoint dashboards.
What’s New: You can now identify resource-heavy processes directly from the Auvik UI without needing remote access to the device.
-
Multi-Site Alert Insights
Overview: One of our most requested features is now live! Alert Insights has been expanded from the global level to the multi-site level.
What’s New: Partners can now review alert spikes, top contributors, and actionable insights for specific subsets of sites, making it easier to analyze alert noise at the right level, across their entire organization or into a specific client or business unit.
-
Alerting on Alert Insights
Overview: You can now set up proactive notifications based on the data surfaced in your Alert Insights reports.
What’s New: This allows teams to be notified of significant alert spikes, deviations in alert volume, or high median resolution time, ensuring that non-critical but high-volume noise is addressed before it impacts operations.
Improved
Fortinet API Authentication: Updated our Fortinet integration to support header-only authentication, ensuring continued monitoring for newer FortiOS versions (v7.4.5+ and v7.6.1+).
Count-Based Clear Delay for Syslog Alerts: You can now configure a Syslog alert to clear only after the clear condition occurs a specified number of times within a defined period. This can reduce alert flapping and avoid closing tickets prematurely, giving you more confidence that issues are resolved.
Support for Meraki WAN 3 Monitoring - For Meraki hardware that supports a 3rd WAN, Auvik will now populate that date in the dashboard.
Fixed
Interface Navigation: Fixed an issue where selecting an interface via "Connected To" hyperlinks would occasionally lead to an empty page.
-
Alerts V2 UI:
Resolved a bug where toggling an edited alert's status or "Roll up" setting would not always enable the "Complete and Save" button.
Fixed an issue where saving changes to the Select Organizations modal for an edited alert had no impact.
Alert Details: In the alert details view, the “External Ticket ID” field now displays the name of the webhook notification channel used for the alert. Previously, this field showed only “Webhook: created”. This makes it easier to identify the destination notification channel when reviewing alerts.
Meraki API Rate Limit Compliance: Auvik will now try and schedule its API calls for Meraki integration to reduce failures.
-
VMware Snapshot V2 Alerts
Addressed an issue where VMware snapshot alerts were applied to the hypervisor instead of individual virtual machines. The pre-configured alerts have been updated to apply to individual virtual machines. The notification variables have been updated from $virtualMachine.vmData.* to $relationships.toVirtualMachines.vmData.*. Please review and update your custom alert definitions that use these notification variables.
