A device dashboard gives you an overview of a specific device. Any element of the dashboard can be clicked to access more detailed information.
There are a few different device dashboards:
- Common device dashboard
- Firewall VPN tunnel dashboard
- Printer dashboard
- Simple dashboard
- Stackable switch dashboard
- UPS dashboard
- Virtual machine dashboard
- VMware hypervisor dashboard
- Wireless (Wi-Fi) controller and access points
Common device dashboard
Most devices — such as unmanaged switches, routers, and workstations — use a common dashboard for displaying device detail.
This is what’s available on a common device dashboard:
- Device details
- Device Setup
- KPIs (key performance indicators)
- Top interface utilization
- Device bandwidth
- Device utilization
- Device packets
Several tabs are also available for accessing more detail.

Device details
Provides you with inventory details about the device:
- IP address(es)
- MAC Address(es)

Device MAC Address in Inventory at global/multi-site level will show the same set of MAC addresses as that are seen under Network Interface for each of the devices.
- MAC address are de-duplicated. Meaning if same MAC address is seen more than once, we show the count in parenthesis.

- Network(s) it belongs to, including access, trunk, and subnet
- Device type
- Make and model
- Software version
- Serial number
- Description
- Firmware version
With Cisco devices, you’ll also see lifecycle details such as:
- Service coverage
- Warranty coverage
- Sales availability
- Service attachment
- Software maintenance
- Contract renewal
- Last support
To update a device’s details, such as its name, type, or management status, see How do I edit device details? You can also update device details from Discovery > Manage Devices.
Device Setup
Located next to device details.
We’ve consolidated the setup indicators for Auvik’s core functionality into a single, and simple, resource.

The Device Setup widget appears at the top of a Device’s dashboard and indicates which of Auvik’s core functionality have been successfully set up for the given device.
- The core functionalities of Manage Devices, Monitoring, Backups and Remote Command, Traffic Insights and Syslog are all accessible through the Device Setup widget.

If a core functionality has not been set up, you can simply click the “setup” link and Auvik will navigate you to the appropriate place to complete the respective setup activities needed for each.

KPIs (key performance indicators)
Located next to the device setup.
- Online Status indicates the last known discovered status (up or down).
- Current Uptime indicates how long the device has been online. If the device has been offline for longer than a quick reboot, the next time the device is powered on the current uptime will show as ~1 day.
- Online Interfaces indicates how many of the device’s interfaces are currently online. Click the number to pull up a list of the interfaces that are online. You can filter the list to show only certain interfaces. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik.
- Open Alerts indicates the numbers of open alerts for the device, organized by severity (emergency, critical, warning, informational) and paused state. To see all alerts by severity or paused state, click the arrow next to the counts.

Credential status indicates the current status for device credentials, including SNMP, login, WMI, and VMware credentials.

The device isn’t running the services for the credential type.
Auvik won’t try credentials on the device based on its type (e.g., printer).
Auvik has the correct credentials for the device.
Auvik needs credentials for the device.
Auvik is trying credentials for the device.
Device is not currently supported by Auvik (e.g., missing CLI specification)
Top interface utilization
Displays the top seven interfaces on the device by transmit utilization percentage for the selected date range. To see the dashboard for a specific interface, click the interface’s row.
Device bandwidth
Displays a graph of the device’s bandwidth and the data that’s being transmitted or received per second. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of the device. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the bandwidth, transmit, and receive detail at that time.

Device utilization
Displays a graph of the CPU, memory, and disk utilization percentages for the selected date range. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of device utilization. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the CPU, memory and disk utilization at that time.

Device packets
Displays a graph of the broadcast, multicast, and unicast packets per second for the selected date range. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of device packets. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the broadcast, multicast, and unicast detail at that time.

More details
A device dashboard has a number of tabs and menus that can be clicked for more detail. In each section, you can filter the list to show only certain details. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik.
- Networks provides a list of all networks associated with the device. To see the dashboard for a specific network, click on the row for a network.
- Interfaces provides a list of all interfaces associated with the device. To see the dashboard for a specific interface, click on the interfaces row.
- Services provides a list of all discovered services running on the device. To see all other devices running the same service, click on the row for a service.
- Alerts provides a list of all alerts that have been triggered for the device.
- Notes provides a list of all notes that have been added for the device. To view note details, click the row for a specific note.
- Configurations provides a list of all configurations that have been backed up on the device. It also allows you to restore one of the backups.
- Debug provides you with tools to help troubleshoot issues with the device.
- SNMP Pollers provides a list of SNMP Pollers that have been mapped to the device along with their current values.
