Auvik provides several ways to export alert information. The available options depend on your account, permissions, licensed features, and the level from which you are working.
Export alert data from Auvik
To export alert data across multiple sites:
- From the navigation menu, click All Sites.
- Click Export.
- Select Alerts from the available data categories.
- Click Export.
- Download the generated Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) file.
The export contains a snapshot of the alert information available when it is generated. Changes made after the export completes are not included in the downloaded file.
For large exports, narrow the scope by selecting only the required sites where possible.
Note: Data exports are available only for paid accounts. Trial accounts cannot export data.
Export alert information from a report
Preconfigured reports may provide summaries of alert activity or event information.
- Go to Documentation > Reports.
- Open the report that contains the alert or event information you need.
- Set the available date range and filters.
- Use the report’s Export or Download option.
- Save the exported file.
The available reports, filters, and export options may vary by tenant and licensed features.
For more information, see Which reports come pre-configured?
Retrieve alert data using the Alerts API
If you have Auvik API access, use the Alerts API to retrieve alert event details programmatically.
The Alerts API can be used to:
- Retrieve information for multiple triggered alerts.
- Retrieve details for an individual alert.
- Build automated exports or reporting workflows.
- Apply more precise filtering than may be available in the user interface.
For more information, see:
API access, credentials, and service-account permissions may be required to use the Alerts API.
Considerations when exporting alerts
- Confirm that your user role has permission to access the required alert data.
- Large time ranges or multi-site exports may take longer to generate.
- Exported files are snapshots and do not update automatically.
- Confirm the time zone used by the report, alert data, or downstream reporting tool when comparing timestamps.
- Use site, device, severity, or date filters when available to reduce the size of the export.
- Store exported alert data securely because it may contain device, site, and operational information.
