Auvik tenants are mapped to ServiceNow CMDB companies and locations, so that new Configuration Items (CIs) are properly associated. Note:
- If the ServiceNow instance is domain-separated, you may have to refresh the page to see the updated Domain field.
- When you are in a specific ServiceNow domain scope, you will only see tenant rows mapped to the current domain and the global domain.
Add a new tenant mapping
- In ServiceNow, navigate to Service Graph Connector -> Auvik -> Auvik Tenants.
- Select the ServiceNow company to map to
- Go to the tenant row you want to map.
- Double click the cell under the Company column to edit.
- Using the dropdown, select the desired ServiceNow company to map to.
- Click the checkmark icon to save. The Domain will automatically populate based on the selected company.
- (Optional) Select the ServiceNow location to map to
- Go to the tenant row you want to map.
- Double click the cell under the Location column to edit.
- Using the dropdown, select the desired ServiceNow location to map to.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
- Enable the tenant mapping
- Go to the tenant row you want to map.
- Double click the cell under the Active column to edit.
- Using the dropdown, select true.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
Note: Mapping a global site or multi-site will have no impact on its descendants. They are included for informational purposes only.
If Enable Delta Sync is set to Yes, perform the following to sync devices from the new tenant:
- Disable existing active tenant mappings.
- Disable delta sync (see How to update device sync options for Auvik / ServiceNow CMDB integration?)
- Manually run a device sync (see How to manually run a device and tenant sync for Auvik / ServiceNow CMDB integration?).
- Re-enable the tenants from step 1.
- Restore the Enable Delta Sync setting.
Note: If you do not want to run a full sync on all tenants, turn off the sync on the existing active tenants and turn them back on after the manual sync has completed.
Edit a tenant mapping
- In ServiceNow, navigate to Service Graph Connector -> Auvik -> Auvik Tenants.
- (Optional) Select the new ServiceNow company to map to
- Go to the tenant row you want to edit.
- Double click the cell under the Company column.
- Using the dropdown, select the desired ServiceNow company to map to.
- Click the checkmark icon to save. The Domain will automatically populate based on the selected company.
- (Optional) Select the new ServiceNow location to map to
- Go to the tenant row you want to edit.
- Double click the cell under the Location column.
- Using the dropdown, select the desired ServiceNow location to map to.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
- Enable the tenant mapping
- Go to the tenant row you want to edit.
- Double click the cell under the Active column to edit.
- Using the dropdown, select true.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
To update all existing CIs, so that the Company and Location attributes are updated with the new mapping:
- Disable delta sync (see How to update device sync options for Auvik / ServiceNow CMDB integration?)
- Manually run a device sync (see How to manually run a device and tenant sync for Auvik / ServiceNow CMDB integration?).
- Restore the Enable Delta Sync setting.
Disable a tenant mapping
- In ServiceNow, navigate to Service Graph Connector -> Auvik -> Auvik Tenants.
- Go to the tenant row you want to disable.
- Double click the cell under the Active column.
- Using the dropdown, select false.
- Click the checkmark icon to save.
Disabling a global site or multi-site will have no impact on its descendants. They are included for informational purposes only.
Note: Deleted Auvik tenant rows will be re-added on the next Auvik Tenant sync with the Active field set to false.
