Auvik’s two different site types are available to partners on plans that support Performance. These are typically plans signed after June 1, 2019. If you’re on an older plan, the site Type column will not appear for you, and you may see Preview in the side navigation for TrafficInsights. If you’d like to gain access to site types, contact your customer success manager.
To change a site type, see How do I manage site types?
Site type differences
There are two different site types available. The types reflect the Auvik functionality that’s available to that site.
Essentials sites: All core Auvik functionality including network mapping, monitoring, and management, integrations, and user management.
Performance sites: All the functionality of an Essentials site as well as flow monitoring and analytics, application visibility powered by machine learning, and centralized syslog management.
All sites default to Essentials. It’s up to you to decide which sites you want switched to Performance.
What it means to change a site type
Changing a site from Essentials to Performance gives you more functionality for that site.
Changing a multi-site from Essentials to Performance applies the new site type across all sites below the multi-site. You can also change each individual site under the multi-site to either Essentials or Performance, allowing you to customize Auvik so that it works the best for you.
You can upgrade and downgrade sites at any time. However, if you downgrade a site or multi-site to Essentials partway through a billing cycle, the change doesn’t take effect until the start of your next billing cycle. In the meantime, the site type shows downgrade pending.
