General Release

Updates for All Auvik Partners

  • Updates to Cloud Ping Check Intervals
    • Effective March 22nd, we are modifying the configuration for cloud ping checks. While our platform currently graphs cloud ping results in 1‑minute intervals, some customers have been using 5‑second intervals. In order to standardize data collection and improve performance, all 5‑second cloud ping checks will be converted to the new minimum settings: a 1‑minute interval, a minimum of 3 consecutive failures before flagging an issue, and at least 1 successful ping required to register as online.

    • Service names for Cloud Ping will remain unchanged. Additionally, the user interface will no longer permit the configuration of 5‑second intervals.

    • This change is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure optimal system performance and data consistency.

  • Improved
    • Auvik Alerting 2.0 Improvement

      • You can now alert on performance degradations on internet connections and other cloud ping checks by alerting on the cloud ping packet loss.

      • When creating an alert definition with a custom device selection or a tag, you will see the number of devices that match the rules to make it easier to detect issues with the rules.

      • We’ve simplified the clear conditions user interface to reduce the possibility of creating a situation where the alert can’t clear as defined.

  • Coming Soon
    • Upcoming Password Policy Enforcement – Action May Be Required

As previously communicated in our February 24, 2024 release, Auvik has updated password requirements to enhance account security and comply with new PCI DSS standards.

If you have already updated your password to meet Auvik's new security requirements after March 9, 2024, no action is needed.

However, if you have not updated your password, you will be required to change it as we roll out this update on March 9, 2024. Users with outdated passwords will be prompted to reset their password after logging in. As part of this process, you will also be required to complete two-factor authentication (2FA) before accessing the password change form (as shown below).

To avoid any disruption, we recommend updating your password in advance.
