General Release

Auvik Network Management (16)
  • New
    • VPN Tunnel Status Alerting - In the new alert section, users can build a VPN Tunnel Status is Down and can specify a name “contains” text field to receive alerts. This will work for that have the tunnel status populated in the VPN tunnels page. Variables are not currently supported, so a manual entry of the tunnel name in the alert description will be required.
    • Fan and Power Supply Status Monitoring and Alerting - We’ve begun rolling out support for vendors, primarily Cisco and HPE, in which the fan and power supply component statuses will be displayed on the device page, and users can generate alerts in the new alert section.
    • Network Latency and Jitter (Essential and Performance Sites Only)

      • IT technicians can now leverage the network latency and jitter data between the collector and network devices to be one step ahead to detect, troubleshoot and fix the issues even before your users pick up the phone to complain! Auvik Collector(s) on your local network will send periodic ping packets to monitored devices to derive the latency & jitter values

        • UI widget: These data points are made available as another UI widget on the existing device dashboard

        • Alert-ability: These data points are made available in the new Alerting with that uses can define alerts and get alerted if values cross certain threshold.

      • Latency measures the average time it takes for a packet to reach its destination,

      • Jitter focuses on the fluctuations or variations in those arrival times

The higher the jitter score, the more inconsistent response times are, which manifests in choppy calls or glitchy-sounding looking video quality. i.,e results in bad UX for users. Hence measuring provides great insights to IT technicians.

Say hello to a single unified API for both Auvik Network and Auvik SaaS! This unified API makes it easier to capture and centralize key data for all your network and SaaS assets in one place. Check out the documentation here. The legacy API will continue to be supported but will be eventually depreciated.
  • Improved
    • Updated browser and source badge icons for improved clarity at lower screen resolution

    • Additional Confirmation for Identity Management Integrations: When configuring a new integration, users are now prompted with a confirmation about potentially adding active (billable) users.
