Auvik continually gathers data about networks under your administration to give you a real-time view of your devices and their events.
Auvik Network Management Data Retention:
The granularity of the data Auvik retains is based on what we collect for a particular metric (like packets per second on a switch port). We retain historical data for:
- Configuration backups
- Alerts
- Jitter and Latency
- TrafficInsights
- Device statistics from monitor settings pre-configured by Auvik
- Device statistics from custom monitor settings
Configuration backups
Configuration backups are kept forever, and are only removed if the device no longer exists in Auvik.
Alerts
Alerts are stored for two years, with the exception of the Packet Discard alerts which are stored for six months, to a maximum of 1000 alerts per device. All alerts are removed if the device no longer exists in Auvik.
Jitter and Latency
Data on latency and jitter on devices is retained for the last 30 days.
TrafficInsights
Data from TrafficInsights is retained for a maximum of 14 days.
Device statistics from monitor settings pre-configured by Auvik
For device statistics from monitors pre-configured by Auvik, we collect data by the minute. Over time, that data rolls up into longer data points, getting less granular as time goes on.
For example, when a new one-minute data point is collected, it’s stored for 62 days. After 62 days, five 1-minute data points are rolled up into a single 5-minute data point and stored for 30 days. After those additional 30 days go by, 12 5-minute data points are rolled up into a single 60-minute data point and stored for 639 days,and so on.
Prior to 2016-09-16, statistics were stored in a format that is not compatible with our current system and cannot be retrieved.

Device statistics from custom monitor settings
For device statistics from custom monitor settings, we retain the history for one year.

Auvik SaaS Management Application and User Data is Retained for the Life of the Tenant.

Application Inventory: List of all applications used.

User Inventory: Information about application users.

App Management States: Labels such as "Approved" and "Unapproved."

Usage Data: Metrics on how long particular applications are being used.

Discovery Methods: Information on how applications were discovered, including SSO, Cloud, and Desktop data.

Reporting Data: Other relevant data used to generate Shadow IT, Security, and Compliance Reports.

Event-Level and Security Log Data (Retained for up to one year)

Specific Login Information: Data on event specific user logins to individual SaaS applications within the Security Logs menu.

File Behavior: Includes actions like downloading files via Chrome shown within the Security Logs menu.
