What can I see on an interface dashboard?

An interface dashboard give you an overview of a specific interface. Any element of the dashboard can be clicked to access more detailed information.

The following graphs are available on the interface dashboard:

Several tabs are also available for accessing more detail.

To access the interface dashboard for any interface from the main Auvik dashboard:

Click All Sites
Click or search for the desired Site
Click Inventory - All Interfaces
Select or search for the desired Interface
Click the Interface

Interface details

Provides you with inventory details about the interface:

Parent device
MAC address
Configuration details
Connected to
Interface type
Negotiated speed
Duplex

To see the dashboard for the interface’s parent device, click on the parent device name.

KPIs (key performance indicators)

Located next to the interface details.

Operational Status indicates whether the interface is up or down.
Admin Status indicates whether the configured interface is up or down.
Open Alerts indicates the numbers of open alerts for the interface, organized by severity (emergency, critical, warning, informational) and paused state. To see all alerts by severity or paused state, click the arrow next to the counts.

Credential status indicates the current status for device credentials, including SNMP, login, WMI, and VMware credentials.

Icon	Status description
	The device isn’t running the services for the credential type.
	Auvik won’t try credentials on the device based on its type (e.g., printer).
	Auvik has the correct credentials for the device.
	Auvik has credentials, but doesn’t yet recognize the CLI of this device.
	Auvik is trying credentials for the device.

Interface utilization

Displays a graph of the transmit and receive utilization percentages for the selected date range. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of the interface. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the transmit and receive detail at that time.

Interface bandwidth

Displays a graph of the interface’s bandwidth and the data that’s being transmitted or received per second. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of the interface. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the bandwidth, transmit, and receive detail at that time.

Interface packet loss

Displays a graph of the packet discards and errors per second for the selected date range. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of interface packet loss. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the discards and errors at that time.

Interface packets

Displays a graph of the broadcast, multicast, and unicast packets per second for the selected date range. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of interface packets. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the broadcast, multicast, and unicast detail at that time.

More details

An interface dashboard has a number of tabs and menus that can be clicked for more detail. In each section, you can filter the list to show only certain details. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik.

Networks provides a list of all networks associated with the interface. To see the dashboard for a specific network, click on the row for a network.
Devices provides a list of the devices associated with the interface. For more information on managing device credentials, click here.
Alerts provides a list of all alerts that have been triggered for the interface.
Notes provides a list of all notes that have been added for the interface. To view note details, click the row for a specific note.
Debug provides you with tools to help troubleshoot issues with the interface.
