There will be times that in spite of best efforts Auvik will not link the proper IP address to a device. Auvik now offers users a way to manually link an IP address to a specific device.
This gives users more power to manually assign specific addresses to devices as required. Answers to frequently asked questions about the feature can be found here.
Note: You can only manually map IP addresses to existing polled devices one at a time.
-
Open Discovery
-
Click Manage Devices and select the device to administer
Or select the device on the map and go directly to the device
- Select Debug and then select IP(s)
- You will then see a list of system assigned IPs and possibly manually assigned IPs if you or someone else has previously assigned an IP to the device.
-
Select Link IP Address in the upper right corner of the bottom window.
- In the Link IP Address window, select the IP Address you will link to the device from the Available IP Addresses dropdown.
Note: Manually linking an IP to a device will prevent it from dynamically linking to another device unless the manual linking is removed or the device is deleted. - Click Save
- A green success banner will appear if the linkage was successful and the new IP will show the selected IP as Manually assigned vs the System Assigned IPs that were dynamically assigned by Auvik
