Can I see a history of remote connections?

You can see a history of all remote terminal and tunnel connections (inbound and outbound, successful and failed) that have been established. You can also see a history of when remote browser sessions were launched.

The audit log can be accessed from either your multi-client Auvik dashboard or the client’s dashboard. From your multi-client dashboard, you can see a history for all clients and can filter the results by client.

If you want, you can filter this audit list to show only certain records. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik.

Multi-client audit log

From Audit Log - Remote Management, you can see detail on which devices have been accessed by a tunnel or terminal connection, or remote browser. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik.

  1. Click Audit Log in the side navigation bar.
  2. Click Remote Management.

The Remote Management Audit Log will display:

  • Device that was managed remotely.
  • User that was using remote management.
  • Site Name of the site that was managed remotely.
  • Date Started of the remote management session.
  • Last Active time date stamp of the remote management session.
  • Category of the remote management session.  Either a Terminal session or a Remote Browser session.
  • Action of the the remote management session.
  • Direction of the remote management session. Either Inbound or Outbound.
  • Status of the remote management session.
  • Cause of the last status of the remote management session.
  • Data that was sent in the remote management session.

Filter clients

By default, you’re presented with a full list of all client devices for the last 10 minutes. You can filter by client to narrow down the details presented.

  1. Click the tree icon (ZendeskKB_144.png), to filter the list of clients.
  2. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik. Uncheck the clients you want to exclude from the list. Once a filter has been applied, the tree icon appears highlighted (ZendeskKB_148.png).

Audit period range

The audit records that appear are based on the date range selected. By default, you’ll see the last 10 minutes. To see more, click the calendar and select the date range you want.

  1. Click the calendar icon (ZendeskKB_145.png).
  2. Select the billing period:
    1. Last 10 minutes
    2. Last 3 hours
    3. Last 6 hours
    4. Last 12 hours
    5. Yesterday
    6. Last week
    7. Last month
    8. Custom range
  3. Click Accept.
