Known Issue with third-party SNMP software causing misclassification in Auvik

Follow

In some cases, when a Windows machine or other endpoint device is running third-party SNMP software, it can lead to misclassification in Auvik.

Where possible, Auvik polls the sysObjectID through SNMP to identify the make and model of a device. If a third-party SNMP software is running, the device may report the ID of the software instead of the host system. Therefore, if you’re experiencing device misclassification in Auvik and it’s running a third-party SNMP service, it’s recommended you disable the service and run the native SNMP or WMI service included on the operating system.

If you’re still experiencing issues after disabling the third-party SNMP service, please reach out to Auvik support for further assistance.
