If a subnet is not appearing under an Azure Firewall in the topology, use this guide to verify device discovery, API credentials, permissions, and collector connectivity.
Confirm the Azure Firewall is monitored
Verify that:
- The Azure Firewall is discovered in Auvik.
- The firewall is assigned to the intended site.
- The device is in a managed state.
- Monitoring data is updating.
- SNMP, API, or other applicable data sources are configured.
Verify Azure API credentials
If the Azure Firewall uses an API or cloud integration, confirm that:
- The credentials are configured in Auvik.
- The credentials are assigned to the correct site, subscription, tenant, or resource scope.
- The credentials are authorized to read the Azure resource, network, virtual network, subnet, and interface information required for topology mapping.
- Any required subscription or tenant permissions are present.
- Conditional access policies are not blocking the integration.
- The integration or credential test succeeds.
Changes to Azure permissions, conditional access policies, or API credentials must be completed by an authorized Azure or Auvik administrator.
Check collector connectivity
If the integration or device monitoring uses an Auvik collector, confirm that:
- The collector is online and connected to the Auvik Cloud.
- The collector can reach the monitored firewall and required management addresses.
- Firewall and network policies allow the required monitoring and API traffic.
- The collector host has accurate system time and reliable DNS resolution.
Refresh the topology data
After correcting credentials, permissions, or connectivity:
- Re-test the applicable credentials or integration connection.
- Run rediscovery if the option is available for the site.
- Allow time for the integration and topology data to update.
- Review the Azure Firewall and confirm whether the subnet connection appears.
If the subnet still does not appear
Collect the following information before contacting Support:
- Azure tenant and subscription identifiers.
- Azure Firewall name and resource group.
- Virtual network and subnet name.
- Subnet address range.
- Interface or network resource identifiers, if available.
- Auvik site and firewall name.
- Screenshots of the topology, device inventory, and interface assignments.
- Any error shown when testing the integration or credentials.
- The approximate time the configuration or permission change was made.
- Whether the subnet and interface appear correctly in the Azure portal.
Do not include passwords, API keys, or other secrets in screenshots or Support requests.
