How to generate an API key

All Datto integrations share a single API key. If the networking API is already enabled, you can skip the steps below and simply copy the API public and secret keys.

1. Log into the Datto cloud controller web portal
2. From the top navigation, hover over Admin 
3. Click Integrations
4. Click Networking
5. Click Enable Networking API.
6. Copy the generated public API key and save it in a safe place
7. Click Reveal to show the secret API key. Copy and save the secret API key in a safe place

How to add API credentials

Note: If you have a single cloud controller portal that hosts multiple clients, you’ll want to add the cloud controller to your MSP dashboard.

1. Click Discovery in the side navigation bar
2. Click the Manage Credentials tab
3. Click the API Credentials tab
4. Hover over the Add API credentials button
5. Choose Datto
6. In Auvik, fill in the following detail:
   1. Credential name
   2. API key (copied from the cloud controller web portal)
   3. API secret (copied from the cloud controller web portal)
7. Click Test Connection to confirm your settings are accurate
   • • The button to test won't appear until the details are entered
8. Click Save
