General Release

Auvik Network Management (11)
  • Improved
    • Alert on specific devices based on its name in Alerting 2.0 beta. When creating an alert definition or a tag at the site level users can either select a list of devices or select multiple devices that follow a naming convention using a partial name match using ‘starts with’, ‘ends with’ or ‘contains’. This makes it easier to select the desired devices to alert on.
    • Alert on printers and UPS in Alerting 2.0 beta. When creating an alert definition you can trigger on printer and UPS properties to monitor potential incidents with those devices. This will be available on Monday, September 9th. Additional printer properties will be delivered in a later release.
    • Auvik’s Autotask PSA integration is switching from Autotask PSA SOAP API to REST API. We’ll be changing our implementation to use the Autotask PSA REST API instead of the SOAP API. No actions are required.
  • Fixed
    • Resolved an issue with some devices failing with SSH and SNMP credentials

  • Coming Soon
    • Network Latency and Jitter (Essential and Performance Sites Only)
      • IT technicians can now leverage the network latency and jitter data between the collector and network devices to be one step ahead to detect, troubleshoot and fix the issues even before your users pick up the phone to complain.

        • UI widget: These data points are made available as another UI widget on the existing device dashboard

        • Alert-ability: These data points are made available in the new Alerting with that uses can define alerts and get alerted if values cross certain threshold.
      • Latency measures the average time it takes for a packet to reach its destination,
Jitter focuses on the fluctuations or variations in those arrival times
The higher the jitter score, the more inconsistent response times are, which manifests in choppy calls or glitchy-sounding looking video quality. i.,e results in bad UX for users. Hence measuring provides great insights to IT technicians.
