Do I need to enrol for the beta?
The Open Beta is available to all customers.
Is there an extra cost for this Collector option?
There is no additional cost and it is available to all customers with an Essentials or Performance subscription.
What deployment options are available?
You can deploy the collector agent on ARM64 architected devices by running it either as a Docker container image or natively using a Debian/Ubuntu package with scripted installation.
- Docker container image - Use this option if you are looking to run other workloads on the underlying hardware and you want the collector agent to utilize only a subset of resources as Docker containers.
- Native Debian/Ubuntu package (with scripted install) - With this option the collector agent will “take over the entire underlying machine” and therefore no other workloads can be run. Users preferring this option would be dedicating a low cost Raspberry Pi to do one single job as an Auvik Collector, which is highly compatible with how Auvik is built and functions.
What ARM devices are supported?
Although Auvik conducted testing with Raspberry Pi devices, technically all devices that are based on ARM64 architecture should be supported.
What is the minimum supported Raspberry Pi?
Raspberry Pi devices that are 4th generation and above (Ex: Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry Pi 5).
What OS will this base image of the Docker container currently run under?
Debian 12 (codename: Bookworm)
Ubuntu (codename: Jammy)
Raspbian (codename: Raspbian)
Where can I find the Docker image?
The Docker image is available on the Docker Hub. Use the ‘latest’ tagged image.
