To configure SNMP on your Dell x1000 series switch, you need login credentials to the Dell GUI interface.
- Log into your Dell x1000 switch through your web browser.
- Navigate to Network Administration > SNMP Monitoring > Global Parameters.
- Click the gear icon (⚙) to edit.
- For the Engine ID type, select default and enabled for all items then OK.
- Click the gear icon again.
- Copy the Engine ID to your clipboard and hit Cancel.
- Click Add.
- For Supported IP Format, select IPv4.
- For IP Address, enter the IP address of the Auvik collector.
- For Local Engine ID, paste the Engine ID from your clipboard.
- Click OK.
- Navigate to Network Administration > SNMP Monitoring > Communities.
- Click Edit, then click Add.
- For Supported IP Format, select IPv4.
- For SNMP Management Station, choose All.
- Enter a community string in Community String.
- Select Basic for the access mode.
- Select Read-Only and set the view name as Default.
- If you use a community string other than public or private, add it to Auvik by following these steps.
- A prompt will appear to save your new changes to the running-config. Select Yes.
SNMP should now be working on your Dell x1000 series switch
