Known issue with Sophos UTM/SG series firewalls and configuration backup support


Sophos UTM/SG firewalls are discovered by Auvik as Generic Devices. This is because the system object identifier (OID) returned by Sophos is also exposed by other Linux-based operating systems. As a result, the device class needs to be manually updated before backups for Sophos service devices can be successfully made in Auvik.

  1. Click Discovery in the side navigation bar.
  2. Click Manage Devices.
  3. In the list of devices, find the device(s) you want to edit. Check the box at the beginning of each row.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. From the Type dropbox select Firewall. If you’ve selected multiple devices to be updated, select Edit from the Type dropbox, then select Firewall.
  6. Click Save.
