Auvik's reporting features allow you to generate and export summaries of network data, performance metrics, inventory information, and alerts.
Reports provide pre-built views of commonly requested network information and can be exported for documentation, analysis, and operational reporting.
Note: Custom report creation and scheduled report delivery are not currently supported.
Available Reports
The following reports are available by default.
| Report Name | Description |
|---|---|
| All Interfaces by Utilization | Utilization, error, discard, and packet metrics for network interfaces. |
| All Printers | Inventory, metrics, and alert information for discovered printers. |
| All UPSs | Inventory, metrics, and alert information for discovered uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs). |
| Infrastructure Availability | Availability, metrics, and alert information for infrastructure devices such as servers, hypervisors, storage devices, telecommunications equipment, and chassis. |
| Network Device Utilization | Utilization metrics and alert information for monitored network devices. |
| Server Utilization | Utilization metrics and alert information for servers and hypervisors. |
| Top Devices by Bandwidth | Devices ranked by bandwidth consumption during the reporting period. |
| Top Interfaces by Bandwidth | Interfaces ranked by bandwidth utilization during the reporting period. |
| Top Network Devices by Utilization | Network devices ranked by CPU, memory, and storage utilization. |
| SSL VPN Sessions | SSL VPN utilization metrics for supported firewall platforms. |
Note: SSL VPN session reporting is supported on select firewall platforms, including Cisco ASA and supported SonicWall devices.
You can use filters to narrow the report list and quickly locate specific reports. For more information, see How to filter data in Auvik.
Report Export Format
Reports are exported in Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) format.
The exported file contains the data available at the time the report is generated.
Reports vs. Data Exports
Reports and data exports serve different purposes.
Reports
Reports provide summarized information based on predefined categories or device groups.
Examples include:
- All Printers
- Server Utilization
- Top Devices by Bandwidth
Reports are designed to provide operational insights without requiring manual filtering or data aggregation.
Data Exports
Data exports provide detailed information about specific devices, entities, or datasets within your environment.
Examples include:
- Device inventories
- Interface inventories
- Detailed entity information
- Configuration and asset data
Data exports are generally used when you need raw data for analysis, auditing, or integration with other tools.
Run a Report
- Navigate to Documentation > Reports.
- Locate the report you want to generate.
- Click Export next to the report.
- Save the generated Excel file.
Depending on the size of your environment, report generation may take several moments to complete.
Preview a Report Before Exporting
You can review a summary of a report before exporting it.
- Navigate to Documentation > Reports.
- Select the report you want to review.
- Click anywhere on the report row to open the summary view.
The summary provides a high-level overview of the report contents, which may include:
- Number of devices included
- Alert counts
- Utilization statistics
- Availability information
If you decide to download the report, click Export from the summary view.
Additional Information
Report contents depend on the devices discovered and monitored within your environment. If a report contains little or no data, verify that:
- The relevant devices have been successfully discovered.
- Monitoring is enabled.
- Required credentials have been configured.
- Sufficient performance data has been collected.
Some reports may not contain information if the associated device types are not present in your network.
