2023-W34 release - August 26, 2023

General Release Notice

  • Important Reminder

    • Ubuntu 18.04 was end of life (EOL) as of April 30, 2023 and is no longer supported. This poses serious security risks for your systems. For this reason, Auvik ended support for this version on July 29, 2023. Ubuntu OVA and Bash Script collectors version 18.04 are no longer compatible and will not be able to connect to Auvik. The impacts of this are:

      • The 18.04 collector will no longer receive updates

      • Network scans will not work

      • Device stats queries (SNMP/WMI) will not work

      • Remote management features will not be available

      • TrafficInsights and Syslog will no longer collect or receive data

It is important to upgrade your collector(s) to 22.04 (preferred). Instructions are located here or at this updated FAQ page. For help with this upgrade, please contact Auvik Tech Support. If you have already upgraded - thank you!

  • Limited Tech Support: Sept 18 - 20, 2023
    • All Auvik teams are away attending a conference from September 18th-20th. Technical support hours will be 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET during these days. Response times will be intermittent and may take longer than usual. We will make every effort to minimize any disruptions and aim to respond as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!

    • Additional Payment Method of Direct Debit (US Domiciled Customers only)

        • There will be in-product UI options to update payment methods from Credit Card to Direct Debit (ACH). With that, US customers will now have more than one way to pay Auvik, either through the current method of credit card or a newer direct debit method. Direct debit will help you to avoid credit card convenience fees. Users with appropriate permissions can navigate to their top-level tenant and Settings → Billing → Account → Edit Payment Details section to self-serve.

Release Notes

New Features:

  • Enhanced Google Workspace Integration: Google Workspace now efficiently retrieves vital SaaS event data. This feature aids in pinpointing apps that utilize GWS for login, shows deeper detail into SSO data, and offers other valuable SaaS insights.

  • Quickscan Integration: Google event data has been integrated into Quickscan. When connecting with a new tenant via Google Workspace, data from the preceding 30 days becomes accessible.

  • App Identification Improvements: ASM now autonomously identifies any application with a company-domain login, even if that application was not found in our global application database. This ensures heightened visibility across emerging, new, and niche SaaS applications.

  • Google Workspace Import Capabilities: Google Workspace has been enhanced to support the import of Organizational Units, alongside the existing group import functionality.

  • Data Export Flexibility: Users can now export contract data directly from the client contracts list menu, facilitating more comprehensive analysis.

Bug Fixes:

  • Resolved an issue where certain sources occasionally went missing in the unclassified applications menu.

  • Resolved an issue with the Connectwise RMM integration, which previously led to deployment errors.

  • Resolved an issue that could cause usage graphs to not calculate properly.
