Do duplicate devices or repeated MAC addresses affect Auvik SaaS Management billing?

Follow

Duplicate device records and repeated MAC addresses do not increase Auvik SaaS Management billing.

Auvik SaaS Management billing is based on the number of unique active users associated with each client during the billing period. It is not based on the number of devices discovered or the number of times a MAC address appears.

What is included in ASM billing?

ASM billing is based on:

  • Unique active users identified during the billing period.
  • User activity recorded through supported discovery agents, identity provider integrations, or other supported sources.
  • Users who are not disabled or expired.

A device record, duplicate endpoint, or repeated MAC address does not independently create an additional billable user.

What duplicate devices can affect

Although duplicate devices do not increase ASM billing, they may affect:

  • Device inventory accuracy.
  • Reporting and asset visibility.
  • Troubleshooting and administrative review.
  • The way user activity is displayed or associated with an endpoint.

If your active-user count looks incorrect

Review the ASM usage or billing information for the affected client and billing period. If the count still appears incorrect, contact Auvik Support and provide:

  • The client or organization name.
  • The billing period being reviewed.
  • The active-user count you expected.
  • The active-user count shown in ASM.
  • Any relevant screenshots or usage reports.

Auvik Support can review the usage data and help determine whether the discrepancy is related to user activity, account status, or another data source.
