How to change the default device class mappings for Auvik - ServiceNow CMDB integration

Follow

You can change the default class mapping to map to your organization’s needs. For example, you have a custom CI class that you want to use.

You can change the default device class mapping by editing the ETL transform map, CMDB Application: SG-Auvik, in the ServiceNow IntegrationHub ETL.

  1. Navigate to IntegrationHub ETL in ServiceNow.
  2. Click on  CMDB Application: SG-Auvik.
  3. Click on Auvik Devices.
  4. Click on Select CMDB Classes to Map Source Data.
  5. Adjust the class mapping as needed
    • Edit existing class mapping
      1. Edit the condition in the affected CI Classes (Edit Class) to add/remove the Auvik device classes in the condition u_device_type is_one_of.
      2. Click Save.
    •  Add a new class mapping
      1. Click Add Conditional Class
      2. Set the condition to u_device_type to is_one_of the desired Auvik device classes.
      3. Set the Class to the desired CI Class.
      4. Edit the field mapping (Edit Mapping) to add field mappings. Use one of the existing ones for reference.
  6. Review the field mapping (Edit Mapping) for the affected classes.
  7. Click Mark as Complete.
  8. Test the changes by clicking on Test and Rollback Integration Results.
  9. Perform a one-time full sync device import.

For more details, see Create an ETL transform map.

If you need an import set to test the new version:

  1. In ServiceNow, navigate to Service Graph Connector -> Auvik -> Data Sources.
  2. Click on the desired device data source.
  3. Change the application scope to Service Graph Connector for Auvik
  4. Click Related Links -> Test Load 20 Records or Related Links -> Load All Records.
