How to configure sFlow on LANCOM GS-2xxx switches

Follow

Before you begin, be aware that LANCOM GS-2xxx switches can support only one Auvik collector.

These instructions assume:

  • The LANCOM switch is running GS-2xxx or higher.
  • The date, time, and time zone are correctly set on the switch.
  • You have administration access to the Lancom dashboard.
  • You know the IP address of your Auvik collector.

Access the LANCOM web interface

  1. Open a web browser and type in the switch’s IP address.
  2. Log into the switch.

Configure sFlow

  1. Log into the Lancom dashboard.
  2. Go to Configurations > sFlow Agent > Collector.
  3. Set the parameters:
    1. Collector IP: The IP address of your Auvik collector
    2. Port: Choose one of the following: 2055, 2056, 4432, 4739, 6343, 9995, or 9996.
    3. IP type: IPv4
    4. Time Out: 0 (Some LANCOM devices use 0 to indicate the sampling time never expires. If you’re not receiving flows after finishing the configuration, increase the timeout to its maximum value of 2147483647.)
    5. Datagram Size: 1400.
  4. Click Apply.

Configure sampling port

  1. Go to Configurations > sFlow Agent > Sampler.
  2. Click the TI_44.pngsymbol to edit the parameters:
    1. sFlow Port: Device port where sFlow is configured
    2. Sampler Type: ALL
    3. Sampling Rate: Set to 128, 256, 512, or 1024
    4. Max Hdr Size: 128
    5. Polling interval: 60
  3. Click Apply.
