BETA! Inventory API
Auvik contains a lot of information about the devices, networks, interfaces, and components on your client networks. To date, you’ve been able to access that information through your Auvik dashboards. Now, with the release of our Inventory API, you’ll also have the option to access that data through RESTful endpoints.
A number of other software vendors have been building integrations into Auvik using the new Inventory API. IT Glue, Passportal, BrightGauge, and WarrantyMaster will be launching their Auvik integrations in the coming weeks.

CHANGED! Palo Alto configuration backups
Palo Alto firewalls expose their device configurations in a few ways:
- JSON format - Viewable, readable, and easily imported into documentation systems, but not a format that can be restored.
- XML format - Viewable, readable, and easily imported into documentation systems, but not a format that can be restored.
- Set notation - Set of configuration commands that are friendly to copy-paste.
We used to retrieve Palo Alto device configurations in JSON format. As of this release, we retrieve Palo Alto configurations in set notation, which means you can now restore Palo Alto firewall configs from Auvik.
Note: If your Palo Alto firewalls expressed their current running config in XML format, you might receive a configuration backup alert with our change. The alert indicates the config backups have been updated to set notation.
FIXED! SSH issue on Fortigate
In some uncommon instances, SSH sessions on Fortigate firewalls weren’t being torn down after a login sequence, even if the client site was configured to establish on-demand sessions. This issue has now been resolved.
