Managing License Status & Usage with SaaS Ops

Auvik SaaS Management, through SaaS Ops Integrations, provides real-time, in-depth license data to help you maintain control over your software usage and spend. This includes a breakdown by license type, associated usage details, and last login timestamps—enabling you to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities by identifying underutilized or redundant licenses.

Important Note:

To access License Data, you must first configure the associated SaaS Ops application. The level of detail available depends on the specific application’s integration capabilities. Not all integrations make this information available, review your integration’s overview for more details. Integrations must be configured for each Client. 

 

Steps to View & Manage License Data

  1. Access the Client’s Admin Hub:
    • Navigate to Applications > Application Inventory
    • Select the desired application from the table

  1. View License Data:
    • From the Application page, go to the License tab
    • Review a detailed breakdown of total accounts per license type and the number of unused licenses

  1. Identify Underutilized Licenses:
    • Use the Last Login Time filter in the License table
    • Identify accounts that haven’t been used in the last 30+ days
    • Repurpose these accounts for other users or remove them to reduce costs

  1. Ensure Compliance & Security:
    • Auvik SaaS Management displays specific users associated with each license in the User Count column
    • Use this data to verify compliance with licensing agreements and align with security best practices

By leveraging these insights, you can optimize software spend, improve security, and ensure your organization only pays for what it actually needs.
