Endpoint Monitoring allows administrators to configure specific sites to which Auvik will monitor the latency.
These specific sites are configurable per site within Auvik Network Management, and will apply to all Endpoints on that site.
By default, Auvik will monitor latency to the following sites:
- Amazon AWS (aws.amazon.com)
- Google Drive (drive.google.com)
- Microsoft Teams (teams.microsoft.com)
- The devices’ Default Gateway (variable based on network it is connected to)
Administrators may configure a 5th site, or reconfigure sites 1, 2 and 3 to their desired destinations. It is not possible to change the monitoring of the default gateway.
The sites configured for monitoring can be any URL that can be resolved from the Endpoint. This includes internal and external sites. Common examples include a VPN server, an on premise application server, or a critical SaaS application.
To configure cloud sites to monitor:
- Go to the Cloud Site Latency page, located under the Admin > Endpoint section.
- On the Cloud Site Latency page, configure the Site Name and the Site Domain as required.
Note:- Site Name will display within the latency charts on the endpoint dashboard.
- Site Domain is required to be a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) that is normally accessible by the endpoints and can be resolved by the endpoint’s DNS server.
- Click Save.
