Primary purpose: Notify if the default route for the gateway has changed.

A possible cause for this alert is a failover Internet connection kicking in when your primary Internet connection fails.

Repetitive alert pause condition

After 5 occurrences within 2 hours against a specific entity, pause the alert for 24 hours

Alert trigger condition

The default route for a gateway has changed.

Alert clear condition

The default route has been restored.

Action(s) to be taken

  • Check the device’s logs to understand why the failover occurred.
  • Check with your primary ISP to see if there is a connectivity problem on their end.
  • Check the configuration on the device. Did someone change the routing priority?
