How can we help?

Using the Auvik / ConnectWise Automate integration

Follow

If you haven’t already configured ConnectWise Automate to integrate with Auvik, refer to Integrating ConnectWise Automate with Auvik.

NOTE: In the current version of this integration, only a single Auvik user can be configured for the ConnectWise Automate plugin. If that Auvik user has read-only permissions in Auvik, every ConnectWise Automate user will have read-only permissions for Auvik through ConnectWise Automate. If the Auvik user has admin permissions, every ConnectWise Automate user will have admin permissions for Auvik through ConnectWise Automate.

MSP admin functions

A few of the administration areas for your MSP dashboard have been made visible in ConnectWise Automate. These include: clients, discovery (manage credentials (SNMP, login, WMI, and VMware) and discovery settings (OID monitor, health check frequencies, discovery services)), integrations, manage users, manage alerts and shared Auvik collectors. For more information on how to use these functions, refer to the appropriate knowledge base article.

To access any of these areas from the ConnectWise Automate toolbar, click the Auvik icon. From the menu, click on the area you want.

If Windows prompts you to log in after clicking an Auvik tab, see How do I troubleshoot issues with my Auvik / ConnectWise Automate integration? for possible resolutions.

MSP client map

Just as you can form the MSP dashboard in Auvik, you can see a map of your clients and access clients in ConnectWise Automate.

  1. From the ConnectWise Automate navigation tree, expand Clients.

  1. From the list of clients, right-click on a client. From the context menu, select Clients > Modify Client.

  1. Click the Auvik tab.

Client network map

Just as you can from a client dashboard in Auvik, you can see a map of a client’s network in ConnectWise Automate.

  1. From the ConnectWise Automate navigation tree, expand Client locations.

  1. From the list of locations, right-click on a location. From the context menu select Locations> Modify Location.

  1. Click the Auvik tab.

Client network devices

Just as you can from a client dashboard in Auvik, you can see the dashboard for a device in ConnectWise Automate. This can be accomplished by clicking on a device node from the client’s network map or from the ConnectWise Automate device screen.

  1. From the ConnectWise Automate navigation tree, expand Client locations.
  2. Expand a location.

  1. Double-click on a device you know exists in both ConnectWise Automate and Auvik.
  2. Click the Auvik tab.

Providing the devices discovered by Auvik are also discovered by ConnectWise Automate, you’ll be able to view the network, device, or interface dashboard and manage them from within ConnectWise Automate. Although the Auvik network map shows you all devices, only those that have also been discovered by the ConnectWise Automate agent will be accessible from within ConnectWise Automate.

If you encounter an error viewing a device in ConnectWise Automate, see How do I troubleshoot issues with my Auvik / ConnectWise Automate integration? for possible resolutions.
