Some Ubiquiti Unifi switches report a generic Linux identifier as their sysObjectID, Auvik therefore classifies them as a Server device type. Auvik attempts to identify these by parsing the device description by looking for the word UBNT. When it finds this, it properly identifies the device and assigns a device type of Switch.
If your Ubiquiti switch is classified as a server, try renaming the device to put UBNT at the front of the system name.
On the Ubiquiti Unifi Controller
- Click Devices
- Click the Switch to rename
The screen on the right will show Overview | Insights | Settings
- Select Settings
- Click in the Name text box
- Add UBNT to the front of the Device Name
- Click Apply Changes
