What can I see on a UPS dashboard?

Follow

Uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) have their own dashboards with unique information.

This is what’s available on a UPS dashboard:

Several tabs are also available for accessing more detail.

See What happens if my collector disconnects?

Device details

Provides you with inventory details about the UPS:

  • IP address(es)
  • Network(s) it belongs to
  • Device type
  • Make and model
  • Software version
  • Serial number
  • Description

To update a device’s details, such as its name, type, or management status, see How do I edit device details? You can also update device details from Discovery  > Manage Devices.

KPIs (key performance indicators)

Located next to the device details.

  • Status indicates the last known discovered status (on or off wall power).
  • Battery Condition indicates whether the device’s charge is Good or Needs Replacing.
  • Open Alerts indicates how many alerts are open for the UPS. Click the number to pull up a list of the alerts. You can filter the list to show only certain alerts. For more information on filtering, see How to filter data in Auvik.
  • Percentage Charged indicates how much charge remains in the UPS battery. If the device is off wall power for an extended time, you’ll see this percentage drop.
  • Time to Charge estimates how long it will take for the device to fully recharge.
  • Discharge Time estimates how much time is left before the battery is completely drained.
  • Credential status indicates the current status for device credentials, including SNMP, login, WMI, and VMware credentials.

Outage monitor

Displays a graph of when the UPS was on wall power and when it experienced a power outage. Below the graph is the KPI for the current status of the power supply. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the power status at that time.

Voltage

Displays a graph of the power supply’s input and output voltage for the selected date range. Below the graph is the KPI for the current state of the UPS voltage. To view more detail about any data point on the graph, run your cursor over the graph line. A tooltip pops up to show you the date and time of the data point, and the input and output voltage at that time.
