Deploying Auvik SaaS Management with Addigy (MacOS)

Follow

This article explains how to deploy the SaaS Management data collector to your devices via Addigy.
Note: With Addigy, be sure to create your client first in SaaS Management by navigating to Clients > Add Client.

The SaaS Management agent can be easily deployed via Addigy via two simple steps.

  1. Push the custom profile to the desired target devices. This step suppresses and removes any pop-ups that might be shown to the user and ensures the deployment is silent.
  2. Upload and push a custom package containing the agent and run the installation script.

Deploy the custom package

  • Within Addigy, Navigate to Catalog > MDM Profiles > Newimage1.png
  • Within the payload section, select the option to create a custom profileimage5.png
  • Within the SaaS Management Platform, navigate to Org Preferences > Integrations > Custom Script
  • Select your client from the dropdown menu and locate the Installing on Mac Using MDM section
    • Based on the version of MacOS, download the appropriate profile (Big Sur 11.0+ or Catalina 10.15 or earlier)image9.png
  • In Addigy, click the Select .mobileconfig file
  • Upload the custom profile you downloaded in the previous step

  • Validate the options shown
  • Select Create Profile
    • This profile will now appear under Policies > Catalog > MDM Profiles

Once complete, you can assign this new policy to a group of devices by navigating to the Policies > MDM Profiles menu and selecting the Deploy option.

Note: Pushing the “Deploy” button will push the package immediately, otherwise, it will be deployed with the next default deployment from Addigy (default - 30 minutes).

Upload and deploy the package containing the agent

  • Within SaaS Management
    • Navigate to Org Preferences > Integrations > Custom Script
    • Locate the Installing on Mac Using MDM section
  • Click the Saaslio.pkg button to download the latest version of the package image7.png
  • In Addigy, navigate to Catalog > Custom Software >Software
  • Select New to add a new Software Entryimage8.png
  • Enter a name and description, then click the Select Files button
  • Upload the .pkg file that you downloaded in the previous step
  • Check the newly uploaded file from the list
  • Hit Select to add it to the deployment

You should see several options already populated.

  • Under the installation files menu, click Add under the Add installation script option
  • You should see a new section called Installation Script appear

Before saving, you must add the Configuration Script from SaaS Management to the newly created install script.

  • In SaaS Management, select your desired client deployment from the dropdown and locate the Installing Saaslio on Mac using MDM section
  • Copy the script from SaaS Management as shown below
  • Return to Addigy and paste the configuration script to the bottom of the Installation Script option
    • This should be added on line 2 directly under the existing script contentimage4.png
  • Click Save to save the new Custom Software configuration in Addigy

Once complete, you can assign this new software package to a group of devices by navigating to the Policies > Software  menu and selecting the Deploy option.

Note: Pushing the Deploy button will push the package immediately, otherwise, it will be deployed with the next default deployment from Addigy (default - 30 minutes).

If the script has run successfully, you’ll see the devices appear under the SaaS Management platform under Clients > (Select the Newly Created Client) > Users > Devices Tab after about 10 minutes.
